Radiator systems utilise convection as a means to raise the air temperature in a room and require high water temperatures. And as the air cannot store much energy it needs to be heated constantly. Consequently a huge proportion of the heat produced is lost and systems are very inefficient (and often noisy). Underfloor heating produces frictionless radiant heat silently.
Heat is radiated from the floor and this heat is fully transferred to the objects in the room including the walls, furniture and people.
This heat is absorbed and much less heat is lost so the same thermal comfort level can be achieved at much greater efficiency than with radiators.
As the underfloor system is much more efficient, lower water temperatures are needed to achieve thermal comfort and this alone will considerably reduce energy costs.
With a modern underfloor heating system the client will experience silent uniform heat distribution, no cold spots in the room and total space can be utilised as there will be no unsightly physical obstructions (radiators) as the distribution system is completely hidden from view.
Installation is simple and can generally be achieved on a single fix basis (one visit only), there is no need for soldering or brazing so installation is much faster and safer.

As part of our range of low floor build up solutions we have developed the Radical screedplate system of lay over floor covering incorporating the underfloor heating pipe work within an 18mm board height. These products are also commonly known as Radical Screed Tiles.
This is an excellent solution in cases where the floor build up depth is limited – commonly found on refurbishment projects where floor to ceiling heights are fixed and limited.
The system can be used in existing and new build installations only requiring a flat and level solid sub floor for the screedplate to underpin ceramic tiles or stone which can be laid directly on top.
The board is pre-grooved to take 12mm underfloor heating pipe work and can be supplied in straight routed panels or fully routed returns panels to suit unusual floor geometry and pipe runs.
As part of our range of low floor build up solutions we have developed the Radical Lite lay- on system floor covering incorporating the insulation and underfloor heating pipe work within an 18mm or 25mm board height.

Joisted floor systems rely on the conductivity of components fitted within the floor to transfer heat efficiently from the pipe surface to the underside of the floor finish.
In order to achieve good results the ufh pipes must transfer their heat evenly and effectively to the floor surface without creating sharp variations in surface temperatures across the floor.

Our control packs and pump systems are easy to install and setup, they have been developed to work with standard underfloor heating manifolds. Our manifold and pump systems usually consist of a mixing valve, an ERP rated circulating pump, connection elbow, manifold adaptors and all necessary seals.
